Our trips help deepen relationships and provide support for those doing incredible work to change the story of disability globally.

We desire to provide a way for others to travel abroad and personally engage individuals with disability around the world. Our trip teams include individuals with a variety of skill sets.

99 Balloons Global Trips are open to anyone. However, each trip has specific spots available depending on our partner’s needs and requests. Follow the links below to find more information about each trip opportunity.

Opportunities to serve are not limited to our annual group trips. We often field requests from our partner organizations for specific skill sets.

We currently have requests for:

  • A long-term staff person to serve in a Special Education classroom in Haiti
  • Interns with various partners around the world

If you are a student, therapist, special educator, or have a skill set you think could help, email us at to learn more about these opportunities or others that may not be listed.

99 Balloons is working with Creighton University to help place 2 of their Occupational Therapy Students in India for the Doctoral Experiential Component of their degree.

Our partners in India benefit from having Occupational Therapy students who have already completed their Level II fieldwork and have passed their NBCOT practice test. Most of the areas in which students are placed rarely receive Occupational Therapy making this a terrific opportunity for both our partners in India and Creighton University.

99 Balloons returned to Haiti in 2017 to provide continued training and support to our partner’s Special Education program. The team was comprised of an Autism/Behavior Specialist, a Special Educator, a Speech Language Pathologist and 99 Balloons Co-Founder, Matt Mooney. We also provided our partners with therapy equipment and educational supplies which were requested by the school.

We returned back to Uganda in January 2018. Our team was made up of professionals including a Behavioral Therapist, a Speech Therapist, a Special Educator, an Artist and 2 volunteers who assisted with school activities and helped prepare and paint a large mural which is capable of being removed from the wall.

In 2017 we began a new partnership in Nicaragua. We sent 2 Nurses, 2 Speech Language Pathologists, an EMT and  a volunteer in July. The team provided training, helped connect our partners with another organization in the country who does similar work and gathered information for future trips. Our partners are currently serving over 200 children with disabilities and plan to open a center in the first half of 2018 which will be run by the leader of our July trip.
